Frequently asked questions
How do I test a deep link on iOS?
Install Deeplink Checker, enter your app's custom URL scheme, Universal Link and paths in the Test Builder, and run the test. Each link is opened the way iOS opens it and gets a verdict: opened in the app, fell through to Safari, or nothing claimed it. Save the test and re-run it after every release.
How do I check an apple-app-site-association (AASA) file?
Open the AASA Checker, enter your domain, and the app fetches the file from /.well-known/apple-app-site-association the way iOS does, validates the JSON, and lists the Team IDs, Bundle IDs and path rules it claims. Every check is kept in a searchable history, and Pro can compare the file with the copy on Apple's CDN.
Why does my Universal Link open Safari instead of my app?
iOS decides from the AASA file it downloaded for your domain when the app was installed or updated, not from what your server serves right now. Common causes are a file that is not served correctly, a path no rule matches, a Team ID or Bundle ID that does not match the build, or a device holding an old copy. The Link Troubleshooter checks each of these in one tap.
Is Deeplink Checker free?
Yes. Testing custom schemes and Universal Links, guided runs, report cards, AASA validation, QR tools, widgets and iCloud sync are free. Pro adds the Link Troubleshooter, multi-path tests, workspaces, batch runs, CSV and PDF exports and unlimited history, as a subscription or a one-time purchase.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. Deeplink Checker runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later, including Split View and Stage Manager, and everything you save syncs between your devices through iCloud.
