I read every message and reply as soon as I can. Please include your device model, iOS version and the app version shown in the app's Settings. For a bug, a screenshot helps a lot.
Deeplink Checker is made by one independent developer. There is no account and nothing I can look up about you, so please describe what you did and what you expected.
Pro, purchases and subscriptions
How do I restore Pro on a new device or after reinstalling?
Open the app, go to Settings › Deeplink Checker Pro › Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If Pro was bought moments ago, give it a minute and try again.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by the app. Open the iOS Settings app › your name › Subscriptions › Deeplink Checker, then pick another plan or cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Apple's guide: support.apple.com/HT202039.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are decided by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. I cannot issue refunds myself, but email me if something went wrong so I can fix the cause.
How does the free trial work?
Where a plan offers a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The trial length and price are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Is the lifetime purchase a subscription?
No. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with no renewal. It unlocks Pro for as long as the app is offered on the App Store and supported on your device.
My subscription lapsed. Is my data gone?
No. Nothing you saved is ever deleted because of a subscription. Pro features lock again, and everything unlocks in place if you subscribe again.
iCloud sync
My tests are not showing up on my other device.
- Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud Drive on.
- In the iOS Settings app › your name › iCloud › Saved to iCloud, make sure Deeplink Checker is allowed.
- Open the app on both devices and wait a minute. Sync runs in the background and can take a little while after a fresh install or a large change.
- Settings › iCloud inside the app shows the current sync status. Tap it to re-check.
How do I delete my data?
Delete items inside the app; deletions sync to your other devices. To remove everything, delete the app from every device and remove its iCloud data in the iOS Settings app › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Deeplink Checker. Nothing is stored on a server of mine. See the Privacy Policy.
Understanding results
Why does my universal link open Safari instead of my app?
iOS decides that from the apple-app-site-association file it downloaded for your domain, not from the file your server serves right now. Common causes: the file is not served correctly, no rule matches the path, the Team ID or Bundle ID does not match the build, or the device still holds an old copy. Run the AASA checker on the domain, or use the Link Troubleshooter for a step-by-step diagnosis.
Why do I get a different verdict than my colleague?
A verdict describes one device, one iOS version, one network and the state of Apple's CDN cache at that moment. Different devices can hold different cached copies of your AASA file, or a different build of your app. Compare the device and version footer on the two report cards first.
What do the three verdicts mean?
- Opened in app: iOS handed the link to an app that claimed it. For a universal link that means an app opened it, which is not necessarily the right app or the right screen. That is why a guided run lets you record whether it landed correctly.
- Fell through to Safari: no app claimed the universal link, so it opened as a web page.
- Nothing claimed it: no installed app handles the custom scheme, or the URL is invalid.
Reporting a bug or requesting a feature
Email timdeapps+deeplinkchecker@gmail.com with what you did, what you expected and what happened instead. If a domain check misbehaves, include the domain so I can reproduce it. Feature ideas are welcome.
